Full & partial rewires
House Rewires
A rewire is the biggest electrical job most homes ever have, so it is worth getting an approved contractor who plans it around you. We run new cabling, replace accessories, fit a modern consumer unit and test the lot before you get the paperwork.
Most of our rewires are the 1930s semis and older terraces across Trafford where the original rubber or lead-sheathed wiring has gone brittle. We work room by room where you are living in, lift and relay floors carefully, and make good so you are not left with a plastering bill you did not expect.
What you get
- New cabling throughout — power, lighting, cooker, shower and any dedicated circuits
- Modern consumer unit with RCBO protection and surge protection (SPD)
- Fresh sockets, switches and outdoor points to an agreed plan
- Floors lifted and relaid, chases cut and filled ready for decorating
- Full inspection, testing and an Electrical Installation Certificate
- Part P notified and your Building Regulations certificate posted out
Every rewire is designed, installed and tested to BS 7671:2018 + Amendment 4:2026 (the current wiring regulations) and notified under Part P through our NICEIC registration.
Step by step
- 01 Survey & fixed quote
We walk the house, agree socket and light positions, and give you a written fixed price — no day-rate surprises.
- 02 First fix
Cables run, back boxes set, floors up. We dust-sheet and tidy at the end of every day.
- 03 Second fix
Accessories on, consumer unit changed, power back on circuit by circuit.
- 04 Test & certify
Full testing to BS 7671, then your certificate and Building Regs notification.

Recent rewires jobs
Full rewire on our 1930s semi in Davyhulme. We stayed living in it the whole time and never lost power overnight. Floors went back down properly and the certificate came through the week after.
Our house near the Downs is Edwardian and I was nervous about the mess. They worked around the cornicing and skirtings really carefully and left it cleaner than they found it.
Good to know
Do I need to move out?
Usually not. We rewire around you, room by room, and rarely leave you without power overnight. For empty properties we move faster.
How long does a rewire take?
A typical three-bed semi is four to six working days. Larger or occupied homes take a little longer because we work around your rooms.
Will I be left with a mess?
Chases are filled and floors relaid, but final skim-plastering and decorating are separate. We can recommend a plasterer or price it in.
