EV charger installation in
Urmston

Urmston, Davyhulme and Flixton are prime EV territory — nearly every 1930s semi has a drive, so most installs are a clean half-day 7kW job. As these are owner-occupied homes the grant will not apply, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. We do check the incoming supply first, because a full old fuse board sometimes needs attention before the charger goes on.

EV charger installation across Urmston

Urmston, Davyhulme and Flixton are semi country — street after street of 1930s three-bed semis, with older housing near Urmston centre and pockets of newer estates. Trafford General in Davyhulme, the town square and the railway station anchor the area, and most homes have a drive, which changes what we get asked for.

Those driveways mean Urmston is one of our busiest patches for EV chargers, and the age of the semis means fuse-board upgrades and partial rewires come up constantly. Urmston is on the rail line rather than the tram, so we come in by road from Stretford or across from Broadheath.

We are a short run into M41 and also cover Stretford and Partington.

What's included

  • Supply and fit of a smart 7kW (32A) charger, or 22kW where you have three-phase
  • Dedicated RCD-protected circuit with the right cable for the run
  • Load management so the charger backs off if the house is drawing hard
  • App, tariff and scheduled-charging setup before we go
  • Notification and certificate for the new circuit
  • OZEV grant claim handled for eligible renters, flat owners and landlords

As an OZEV-authorised installer we fit only approved chargepoints to BS 7671 and the IET Code of Practice. From April 2026 the EV chargepoint grant is worth up to £500 per socket for renters, flat owners and landlords — homeowners with a driveway are not eligible, so we will tell you honestly whether a grant applies.

Straightforward charger on the drive in Flixton. Told me honestly I couldn’t get the grant as a homeowner, which I appreciated — no false promises. Great job all round.
